Chambers, Jr. City Council Chambers Housing and Human Welfare Housing and Human Welfare Standing Committee Meeting April 16, 2019 Minutes 1. Call To Order Chairwoman Henson called the meeting to order at 6:16 p.m. 2. Roll Call Present: 1- Alderwoman Tierney 3. Approval of Agenda (any changes to the agenda should be made here) Alderwoman Tierney moved to adopt the Regular Meeting Agenda as amended. Seconded. A roll call vote was taken. The motion CARRIED by the following vote: Aye: 2- Henson and Alderwoman Tierney Absent: 1- Rodriguez 4. Business before Committee a. Approval of Minutes HHW03.19.1 Approval of Minutes for the Regular Meeting 9 Alderwoman Tierney moved to adopt as amended. Seconded. A roll call vote was taken. The motion CARRIED by the following vote: Aye: 2- Henson and Alderwoman Tierney Absent: 1- Rodriguez b. Appointments and reappointments to Committees AP-56-18 The Re-Appointment of Ida Mae Sims to the Human Relations Commission Ida Mae Sims was present and answered questions from the committee. Alderwoman Tierney moved to recommend favorably. Seconded. A roll call vote was taken. The motion CARRIED by the following vote: Aye: 2- Henson and Alderwoman Tierney Absent: 1- Rodriguez AP-79-19 The Re-Appointment of Martha Scott to the Human Relations Commission not in attendance. pp Alderwoman Tierney moved to Continue. Seconded. A roll call vote was taken. Alderwoman Tierney moved to recommend favorably. Seconded. A roll call vote was taken. The motion CARRIED by the following vote: Aye: 2- Henson and Alderwoman Tierney Absent: 1- Rodriguez AP-81-19 The Appointment of Nancy Lisbon to the Housing and Community Development Committee Nancy Libson was present and answered questions from the committee. Alderwoman Tierney moved to recommend favorably. Seconded. A roll call vote was taken. The motion CARRIED by the following vote: Aye: 2- Henson and Alderwoman Tierney Absent: 1- Rodriguez AP-87-19 The Appointment of Kayla Simone Golder to the Education Commission Kayla Golder was present and answered questions from the committee. Alderwoman Finlayson was present and answered questions from the committee. Alderwoman Tierney moved to recommend favorably. Seconded. A roll call vote was taken. The motion CARRIED by the following vote: Aye: 2- Henson and Alderwoman Tierney Absent: 1- Rodriguez 5. General Discussion The Committee discussed the FDES and the amendments that were made by the committee. 6.
