Chambers, Jr. City Council Chambers 1. Call To Order The Chair called the Meeting to order at 5:44 p.m. Present: 3- Alderman Paone, Alderwoman Finlayson and Alderwoman Pindell Charles Roll Call Present: 3- Alderman Paone, Alderwoman Finlayson and Alderwoman Pindell Charles 2. Legislation before Committee 3. Business before Committee a. Approval of Minutes PS102014 Approval of minutes for the regular meeting Attachments: October 20, 2014 Alderman Paone moved to approve. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote. Aye: 3- Alderman Paone, Alderwoman Finlayson and Alderwoman Pindell Charles 4. General Discussion ID-367-14 Updates from APD- Traffic Safety Chief Pristoop discussed Traffic Safety in Annapolis. Mr. Krause offered an report on Traffic Safety. Chief Pristoop discussed the Speed Camera Program. The Chief addressed questions from the committee on Cell phone usage of drivers. ID-399-14 Updates from AFD Chief Stokes offered updates from the Fire Department. Mr. Stokes, Chief Pristoop and Deputy Chief Simmons recognized Ms. Barbara Cox expressing the Departments sadness at her passing. ID-368-14 Updates from OEM- Parade Safety & Ebola Updates Deputy Chief Simmons offered an update on Ebola. Mr. Simmons discussed City of Annapolis Page 1 Public Safety Committee Standing Committee Minutes November 17, 2014 procedures, planning and federal funding. Mr. Simmons discussed Parade Safety. Special Projects Coordinator Felicia Nolan discussed the proposed Parade Safety Rules. Assistant City Attorney Elson discussed the codification of the rules. Alderman Paone suggested that the committee should support the codification of the rules. Risk Prevention Specialist O'Brian discussed Risk Management rules that are being developed. Alderwoman Finlayson asked the office of law to draft the legislation with the committee members as sponsors, the other committee members concurred. 5. Adjournment Upon motion duly made, seconded and adopted, the meeting was adjourned at 6:46 PM. City of Annapolis Page 2
