Chairwomen Finlayson called the meeting to order at 5:02 p.m.

2. Legislation before Committee
R-4-15 The Annotated Code of Maryland Public Utilities Article Definitions of
Taxicab and Provision of Taxicab Services - For the purpose of respectfully
requesting that the Maryland General Assembly amend Sections 1-101
and 10-101 of the Public Utilities Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland
to incorporate the use of a software application, digital wireless network or
digital telecommunications capable device in the context of regulating the
provision of taxicab services in the City of Annapolis.

ID-104-15 Annapolis Police Department Update- Community Meetings, Crime Stats,
and APD’s Strategic Plans/Goals
Police Chief Pristoop gave a department update on community meetings, crime
statistics, and Annapolis Police Departments Strategic Plans/Goals, and answered
questions from the committee.

ID-105-15 Annapolis Fire Department Presentation on how we are using Technology
to Improve Productivity and Safety
Fire Chief Stokes opened the discussion on ID-105-15. Battalion Chief Powell was
present, and gave a presentation on using Technology to Improve Productivity & Safety,
and answered questions from the committee.

ID-107-15 OEM Update
Deputy Chief Simmons opened the discussion on the Stanton Center (Warming Center)
and its operations this past winter. Office Associate Schultz gave an overview on how the
program was administered. Facilities Manager Trader was present, and spoke on
services the facility provided to the users of the warming center, and answered questions
from the committee.

Special Projects Coordinator Nolan, and Deputy Chief Simmons gave a joint presentation
on Public Safety and Special Events in the City of Annapolis.
