Chambers, Jr. City Council Chambers Public Safety Committee Public Safety Committee Standing Committee Minutes January 14, 2016 1. Call To Order Chairwoman Finlayson called the meeting to order at 5:07p.m. Roll Call Present: 2- Alderman Paone and Alderwoman Finlayson Absent: 1- Alderwoman Pindell Charles 2. Business before Committee Approval of Minutes PSC121415 Approval of Minutes for the Regular Meeting Attachments: PSC12.14.15 This Journal was postpone 3. General Discussion ID-50-16 Review of 2015 and 2016 Departmental Goals & Review of Year End 2015 Stats- Fire Fire Chief Stokes gave a presentation on the 2015 departmental statistic and goals and the 2016 departmental goals. He also spoke on the Post Incident Action Report (PIA), Updated Sprinkler Plan, Sprinkler Fund, and answered questions from the committee. This Informational Item was presented ID-52-16 FY 2016 Goals- OEM Deputy Chief Simmons gave a presentation on The Office of Emergency Management FY 2016 goals and answered questions from the committee. This Informational Item was presented. ID-51-16 Front Desk Safety and Security- OEM Risk Analyst O'Brien spoke about the Active Shooter Training and Front Desk Safety and answered questions from the committee. This Informational Item was presented ID-47-16 Presentation on: Policy Change Recommendations by the Caucus of African- American Leaders- APD Police Chief Pristoop gave a presentation on the discussion topic and answered questions from the committee. Alderman Paone moved to recommend favorably to support the African American Liasion Position in the City Manager's office.. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote. City Manager Andrews was present and answered questions from the committee. This Informational Item was presented ID-49-16 Agency- Goals and Accomplishments- APD Police Chief Pristoop gave a overview of the Agency Goals and Accomplishments and answered questions from the committee. This Informational Item was presented ID-39-16 Annual Standing Committee Chair Election Alderman Paone moved to confirm the nomination of Alderwoman Finalyson as the chair of the Public Safety Committee. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote. Aye: 2- Alderman Paone and Alderwoman Finlayson Absent: 1- Alderwoman Pindell Charles 4.
