General Discussion ID-94-17 Update: AFD Recruitment Efforts Annapolis Fire Chief Stokes and Deputy Fire Chief Simmons gave a joint presentation of the discussion topic and spoke on the Annapolis Fire Department core values, Inclusion in the fire service, SAFER grant, the concentrated recruitment effort in the City of Annapolis, the job fairs at the Pip Moyer Recreation Center, the Caucus of African American Leaders and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), cognitive and personality based test for entry in the fire service, providing classes on test taking and interviewing, having a discussion with Human Resources on residential preference points for future testing, Anne Arundel County recruitment dates and answered questions from the committee. This Informational Item was presented ID-96-17 Update: 1. 25 Million Expenditure Acting Police Chief Baker gave an overview of the discussion topic and answered questions from the committee. This Informational Item was presented ID-97-17 Update: Body Worn Camera’s Acting Police Chief Baker gave an overview of the discussion topic and spoke on a purchase order for the camera vendor, implementation of body worn camera's June 1, 2017, training for body worn camera's, storage for camera equipment, Annapolis Police Department (APD) general order and retention policy, a staggered rollout of camera outfitting, camera monitors and answered questions from the committee.
