NOTICE OF BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING The Board of Zoning Adjustment for the City of Athens, Alabama, will hold a work session at 5:15 p.m., followed by the regular meeting at 5:30 p.m., in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, at 200 W. Hobbs Street, on Thursday, November 17, 2016, for the purpose of hearing the following applications and appeals. At this time, the applicant and all interested parties are requested to be present and will be given the opportunity to be heard. Case #1 Request of Michael Alldredge for an Appeal / Special Exception to operate a firearms dealership as a Home Occupation at 13625 Rising Run Circle. Said address is in a R-1-3 Residential District. The applicant is appealing a decision by the Zoning Official not to grant approval. Case #2 Request of Gene and Martha McLaughlin for a variance to the Zoning Ordinance to reduce a required 20ft rear setback by 11’ 9” in order to permit the construction of an attached porch. The property is located at 22788 Riviera Dr. and zoned P-R Planned Residential (Canebrake). Case #3 Request of Wade and Mary Ann Miller for a variance to the Zoning Ordinance to reduce the required lot frontage on a public street from 100’ to 35’. The property is located at 24939 Airport Road and is zoned R-1-1. Jerold Blaxton Chairman
