Craig moved to accept the agenda. Ed seconded. The agenda was approved unanimously. Minutes Lauren shared the previous meeting minutes and entertained a motion to accept. Craig moved to accept the minutes. Teresa seconded. The minutes were approved unanimously. Will review/approve May minutes next meeting. Minutes AiMC Introduction Commissioner introductions ● Welcome new Commissioners Art Edison, Julie Jaegger, Allen Jones, & Ed Maioriello Athens in Motion Commission - Overview ● Presentation – Intro to AiM Commission – What we do ● Next Year – (09/26,10/24/,11/28 annual meeting) Major Items (56:28) Raise Connecting Communities Letter – Vote Shirelle Hallum, Vision Zero Coordinator ● Letter to Secretary of Transportation in support of ACC application for reconnecting communities/neighborhoods planning grant ● Lauren entertained a motion to approve this letter of support. Ed moved to accept. Art seconded. Motion unanimously approved. Fall tabling Events ● UGA Safety Day – Thursday, September 7th, 9am-2pm  What is our message?  Materials, interactive map, QR codes ● Porch Fest – Sunday, October 15th, 12pm-8pm  Need organizers and tablers Staff Updates (1:09:43) Parking Planning – Todd Miller, Park Planning Coordinator ● Greenway Trail Carr’s Creek – Grading work is 70% complete, retaining walls being formed. Concrete trail should start in September. Estimated completion February 2024 ● Firefly Trail Expansion Phase III – Construction Plan development phase. SPLOST office working on acquiring construction easements 2  ● Dudley Park East Broad Parking – swap of 48 parking spaces (+73-25) across from Chicopee ● RaceTrac Old Winterville Rd – gaining 16 parking spaces at gas station Transportation and Public Works – Daniel Sizemore, Bike, Pedestrian and Safety Coordinator/Shirelle Hallum, Vision Zero Coordinator ● Projects – Ask DANIEL to send me his update ○ North Avenue project working on grant agreement. RFQ process by end of September. ■ Early public engagements efforts, public forum on October 14th ■ Riverbend Road MUP (AiM) – next delivered AiM project. 85% plans received. Working with property owners and partners. ■ Cherokee Road MUP (AiM) – working on 85% plans with Arcadis ■ Jefferson River Road MUP (AiM) – update to come ■ Barber Street Project – 60% plans near completion. Spring of 2024 start date ■ Prince Avenue Project (TSPLOST 2018 Prince Ave User Group) – interim improvements have been installed ○ Small Projects ■ Viewing session with managers next week to review. Vote will be in October ■ AiM bylaws on agenda for September 5th. Will review/clarify quorum bylaw ■ Working on AiM wikimap ■ Bike rack subsidy program, looking into placement and distribution ■ Crosswalk policy revision in progress. Will meet with traffic engineering and review final draft ■ Bike Friendly community status – Athens received Bronze.
