The Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County, Georgia met this date in a special called
session. Present: Mayor Girtz; Commissioners Davenport, Parker, Link, Wright, Denson, Houle, Myers,
Thornton, and Hamby. Absent: Commissioner Edwards. Commissioner Thornton came in at 5:07 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting was to consider COVID-19 vaccination mandate policy; enter into
executive session for discussion of real estate acquisition and/or disposal; and consider any other item in
proper order.
New business – Consider under suspension of Rules
A motion was made by Commissioner Myers, seconded by Commissioner Houle, to suspend
Rules of Commission for consideration of one item of new business. The motion passed by unanimous
vote.
A motion was made by Commissioner Myers, seconded by Commissioner Link, to approve the
recommended updates to the COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate Policy as per Attachment #1 of agenda report
dated March 4, 2022. The motion passed by unanimous vote.
Mayor Girtz announced he, Commissioner Houle, and Commissioner Hamby will serve along with
two members of the Clarke County School District in connection with the Mall Area Tax Allocation District
(TAD) projects.
A motion was made by Commissioner Wright, seconded by Commissioner Davenport, to adjourn
into executive session for discussion of real estate acquisition and/or disposal. The motion passed by
unanimous vote.
The meeting adjourned at 5:09 p.m.
