Chair Evans opened the meeting 2. Minutes were approved 3. Bylaws  a. Article II Section V: Training requirements. NACOLE Finnell suggested that some training takes place at monthly meetings and other training takes place at a retreat. (ACLU, law firms, trainers for ACCPD etc). i. It is encouraged that Board Members will complete CPA within 24 months of appointment ii. Board Members will complete 5 additional hours of training annually iii. From NACOLE Finnell: Not having clear training requirements might decrease the board's credibility b. Article II Section VI: Expectations i. Discussion on Conflicts of Interest (COI). Discussed how to communicate and what causes someone to be recused. There are state and local laws on ethics and COI. There’s not a clear answer, and normally it’s the person with conflict that makes the decision. A goal of the Board is to build community trust. “Disclose early, disclose often” -Sherrie Hines 4. Job Description a. Took out language in the first paragraph about preventing future incidents b. Discussed where to house the Monitor position and if that should be listed→ Auditor’s office Votes Taken with Motion / Second / Results (Unanimous or Number of Yes / No Votes and names) (if applicable): ● Felix Bell motioned to approve the 11.16.22 minutes.
