ATHENS TOWN COUNCIL Regular Session – October 6, 2015 Athens Town Hall The Athens Town Council met in regular session at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 in the Athens Town Hall. Members present were, Charles Abraham Lilly, Jed Nolan, Timothy Pike, and John David Smith. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The Council approved the Minutes of September 1 and 15, 2015 without objection. CITIZENS INPUT Chi Omega Psi and Blue Key once again visited Council to inform Council of what they have done for the Town thus far and requesting further direction as to how they could help the Town. EMPLOYEE REPORTS QUARTERLY DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS - OFFICE: Officer Lowe presented the public safety report, which is attached with these minutes. OLD BUSINESS  Speed Limit Radar Trailer – Lilly apprised Council of his research and efforts regarding the Speed Limit Radar Trailer. Lilly volunteered to again contact Andrew Morgan, PE Program Coordinator, West Virginia LTAP / WVU, to request both a radar sign that mounts to an existing U-channel sign post and a radar traffic counter. Morgan stated in his letter to Lilly that the Town could be loaned the radar traffic counter pretty quickly; but there is a waiting list for the radar sign.  Progress of Committees – Nolan volunteered to follow-up with the arts and beautification committee members proffered by Lokay.  Town/Gown Meeting - Suggestions and Assessment – Council members discussed ideas/issues presented at the Town/Gown meeting. These will be continued at the next meeting. NEW BUSINESS  No new business was brought before Council. OTHER BUSINESS, MAYORAL REPORTS, COUNCIL MEMBER INPUT No other issues/reports were presented. APPROVAL OF CURRENT BILLS (Action on Accounts) On a motion by Lilly, second by Nolan, Council approved the current bills.
