ATHENS TOWN COUNCIL Minutes– October 20, 2015 Athens Town Hall The Athens Town Council met in regular session at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in the Athens Town Hall. Members present were, Roger Lokay, Lisa Jennings, Timothy Pike, and John David Smith. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The Council approved the Minutes of October 6, 2015 without objection. CITIZENS INPUT Chi Omega Psi visited Council requesting further direction as to how they could help the Town; Pike rendered ideas. EMPLOYEE REPORTS QUARTERLY DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS - OFFICE: Mark Parsell presented the Maintenance Department report; Debra Shorter presented the Office report. Both reports are attached with these minutes. OLD BUSINESS  Speed Limit Radar Trailer – Council will request Lilly to provide any follow-up with Andrew Morgan, PE Program Coordinator, West Virginia LTAP / WVU. As stated previously, Morgan stated in his letter to Lilly that the Town could be loaned the radar traffic counter relatively quickly; but there is a waiting list for the radar sign.  Progress of Committees – Follow-up regarding the arts and beautification committee members; report from other committees if the reports are available.  Town/Gown Meeting - Suggestions and Assessment – Council members continue to discuss ideas/issues presented at the Town/Gown meeting. NEW BUSINESS  Town/Gown Issues – Council discussed some immediate issues. Pike will follow-up. OTHER BUSINESS, MAYORAL REPORTS, COUNCIL MEMBER INPUT No other issues/reports were presented. APPROVAL OF CURRENT BILLS (Action on Accounts) On a motion by Lokay, second by Clark, Council approved the current bills.
