VILLAGE OF BARNEVELD BOARD MEETING
Wednesday, January 10th, 2024

DRAFT SUBJECT TO APPROVAL
1. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by John Forbes. State of Public
Notice was given and agendas were available.
2. Roll Call: Scott Leahy, Rhonda Hazen, Don Hugill, Chris Valcheff, Mike
Peterson, Brandon Watson and John Forbes.
3. Pledge of Allegiance
4. Motion by B Watson/C Valcheff to approve the minutes of the December 4th,
2023 Village Board Meeting. Motion carried.
5. Informal Public Comment: None
6. President’s Report – praised the Public Work employees on the snow
removal during/after the storm on December 9th
7. Motion by C Valcheff/R Hazen to approve the Professional Services
Agreement for 2024 Non-State Grant Application Services. Motion by R
Hazen/S Leahy to approve the ad for Bid for Memorial Park Project. All
motion carried.
8. Motion by M Peterson/D Hugill to approve the Flowage Easement with Iowa
County for Birch Lake Park. Motion carried.
9. Motion by B Watson/S Leahy to have the County clear trees for the bike trail
to Birch Lake Park. Motion carried.
10. Motion by C Valcheff/R Hazen to have the County cut some brush down at
Birch Lake Park. Motion carried.
11. Police Chief Report. Call response for December: Citations/Warnings - 10
and Service - 17
12. Motion by R Hazen/D Hugill to approve Operator Licenses for Michael Pittz
and Perry Nichols for Kwik Trip. Motion carried.
13. Public Works Report
14. Motion by S Leahy/M Peterson to approve the Agreement from Johnson
Block & Company for Water rate Case. Motion carried.
15. Committee/Commission Reports – Sadie Olson, EMS Chief/Director gave
update on Ambulance Purchase
16. Motion by B Watson/D Hugill to approve the bills as presented. Motion
carried.
17. Craig Hardy, Iowa County Highway Commissioner, gave update on Highway
18-151 Corridor
18. No future items and business
19. Motion by M Peterson/C Valcheff to adjourn at 8:24 p.m. Motion carried.
