MEMBERS PRESENT: Commissioners Jennifer Cappell, Gordy Vogt and Judith Mudge MEMBERS ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: Vicki Houser, Larry Hausman, Russ Claggett CALL TO ORDER: President Cappell called the meeting to order at 4:00 PM and recognized that a quorum was present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. A motion was made by Comm. Vogt, supported by Comm. Mudge, to approve the Civil Service Commission September 24, 2012 meeting minutes. All yes, none opposed. Motion approved. PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS Ms. Houser noted the Clerk’s office received communication from Sean Kletzka withdrawing from the Entry Level Fire Fighter position. REPORTS There were none. UNFINISHED BUSINESS There was none. NEW BUSINESS 1. Certify the next candidate on the “2011 Fire Captain Eligibility List” (Michael Fleisher) President Cappell stated the first order of business was to certify the next candidate on the “2011 Fire Captain Eligibility List.” – Michael Fleisher. President Cappell opened the floor for public comment. Seeing no public comment, a motion was made by Comm. Mudge, supported by Comm. Vogt, to certify the next candidate on the “2011 Fire Captain Eligibility List.” – Michael Fleisher. All yes, none opposed. Motion approved. 2. Removal of one candidate from the “2012 Entry-Level Firefighter Eligibility List” (Sean Kletzka) 1  President Cappell stated the next order of business was to remove Sean Kletzka from the “2012 Entry-Level Firefighter Eligibility List” at his request. President Cappell opened the floor for public comment. Seeing no public comment, a motion was made by Comm. Vogt, supported by Comm. Mudge, to remove Sean Kletzka, at his request, from the “2012 Entry-Level Firefighter Eligibility List.” All yes, none opposed. Motion approved. 3. Certify the next five candidates on the “2012 Entry-Level Firefighter Eligibility List” (Jonathan Ekema, Michael Hewartson, Sean McCaul, Jay Hileman, and Brian Mlodzinski) President Cappell stated the next order of business was to certify the next five candidates on the “2012 Entry-Level Firefighter Eligibility List.” (Jonathan Ekema, Michael Hewartson, Sean McCaul, Jay Hileman, and Brian Mlodzinski). President Cappell opened the floor for public comment. Seeing no public comment, a motion was made by Comm. Mudge, supported by Comm. Vogt, to certify the next five candidates on the “2012 Entry-Level Firefighter Eligibility List.” (Jonathan Ekema, Michael Hewartson, Sean McCaul, Jay Hileman, and Brian Mlodzinski). All yes, none opposed. Motion approved. 4. Authorize the City Clerk to proceed with the “Fire Captain’s Exam.” President Cappell stated the next order of business was to authorize the City Clerk to proceed with the “Fire Captain’s Exam” process. President Cappell opened the floor for public comment. Seeing no public comment, a motion was made by Comm. Vogt, supported by Comm. Mudge, to authorize the City Clerk to proceed with the “Fire Captain’s Exam” process. All yes, none opposed. Motion approved. 5. Setting the 2013 Civil Service Commission Meeting Schedule President Cappell stated the next order of business was to approve the 2013 Civil Service Commission Meeting Schedule. President Cappell opened the floor for public comment. Seeing no public comment, a motion was made by Comm. Mudge, supported by Comm. Vogt, to approve the 2013 Civil Service Commission Meeting Schedule. All yes, none opposed. Motion approved. PUBLIC COMMENTS There were none. COMMISSION COMMENTS There were none.
