MEMBERS PRESENT: Commissioners Judith Mudge, Gary Green, and Tim Martinovich MEMBERS ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: Victoria Houser, Nancy Mullett, Chief Schmaltz, Martin Erskine, Derek Malone and Chad Hughes CALL TO ORDER: President Mudge called the meeting to order at 4:01 PM and recognized that a quorum was present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. A motion was made by Comm. Green, supported by Comm. Martinovich to approve the Civil Service Commission November 24, 2014 meeting minutes. All yes, none opposed. Motion approved. PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS The Clerk’s office received a communication from Fire Fighter Joshua Cushman requesting to be removed from the 2013 Fire Lieutenant Eligibility List. REPORTS There were none. UNFINISHED BUSINESS There was none. NEW BUSINESS 1. Civil Service Commission Acceptance of a letter from Joshua Cushman President Mudge stated the first order of business was to accept the letter from Joshua Cushman requesting removal from the “2013 Fire Lieutenant Eligibility List.” President Mudge opened the floor for public comment. Seeing no public comment, a motion was made by Comm. Green, supported by Comm. Martinovich, to accept the letter from Joshua Cushman requesting removal from the “2013 Fire Lieutenant Eligibility List.” All yes, none opposed. Motion approved. 2. Removal of one candidate from the “2013 Fire Lieutenant Eligibility List” (Joshua Cushman) President Mudge stated the next order of business was to remove Joshua Cushman, at his request, from the “2013 Fire Lieutenant Eligibility List.” President Mudge opened the floor for public comment. 1  Seeing no public comment, a motion was made by Comm. Martinovich, supported by Comm. Green, to remove Joshua Cushman, at his request, from the “2013 Fire Lieutenant Eligibility List.” All yes, none opposed. Motion approved. 3. Republication of the “2013 Fire Lieutenant Eligibility List” President Mudge stated the next order of business was to republish the “2013 Fire Lieutenant Eligibility List.” President Mudge opened the floor for public comment. Seeing no public comment, a motion was made by Comm. Green, supported by Comm. Martinovich, to republish the “2013 Fire Lieutenant Eligibility List.” All yes, none opposed. Motion approved. 4. Authorize the City Clerk to begin the Fire Captain testing process President Mudge stated the next order of business was to authorize the City Clerk to begin the Fire Captain Testing process. President Mudge opened the floor for public comment. Seeing no public comment, a motion was made by Comm. Martinovich, supported by Comm. Green, to authorize the City Clerk to begin the Fire Captain testing process. All yes, none opposed. Motion approved. 5. Authorize the City Clerk to begin the Battalion Chief testing process President Mudge stated the last order of business was to authorize the City Clerk to begin the Battalion Chief Testing process. President Mudge opened the floor for public comment. Seeing no public comment, a motion was made by Comm. Green, supported by Comm. Martinovich, to authorize the City Clerk to begin the Battalion Chief testing process. All yes, none opposed. Motion approved. PUBLIC COMMENTS Derek Malone noted Commissioner Green was willing to extend his term on the Civil Service Commission until a new Union Representative was nominated. Clerk Houser stated she would include a resolution on the next Civil Service Commission meeting extending Commissioner Green’s term on the Civil Service Commission unless a new representative was nominated. COMMISSION COMMENTS There were none. ADJOURNMENT President Mudge adjourned the meeting at 4:08 PM. 2
