DANGEROUS BUILDINGS HEARING MINUTES April 09, 2014 1:00 P.M. CITY HALL 10 N. DIVISION STREET COMMISSION CHAMBERS 3RD FLOOR – ROOM 301 BATTLE CREEK MI 49014 1. Call to Order: 1:05pm 2. Roll Call: Carman Hamilton 3. Staff Members Present: Dennis McKinley, Code Compliance Administrator, Don Wilkinson, Building Inspector, Lisa Silkworth Secretary 4. Additions/Deletions to the Agenda: none 5. Approval of Minutes: Carman Hamilton approved the minutes from the March 12, 2014 meeting. 6. New Business: a. 56 Cliff (House) Issue#EN14-07690 Code Compliance Administrator: Dennis McKinley Property owner, not present. Don Wilkinson, Building Inspector, reported the property was in the vacant/abandoned process. After going through the house for a safety inspection, the cost estimate of repair is $58,634. Mr. Wilkinson recommends affirming it as a dangerous building. Mr. Hamilton affirmed it as a dangerous building and gave the property owners 30 days to bring it into compliance. b. 32 Frisbie (House) Issue#EN14-04935 Code Compliance Administrator: Dennis McKinley Property owner, not present. Don Wilkinson, Building Inspector, reported the house was damaged by fire. Mr. Wilkinson noted Dangerous Buildings Hearing April 9, 2014 Page 2 of 2 the cost estimate of repair is $35,225. Mr. Wilkinson recommends affirming it as a dangerous building. Mr. Hamilton affirmed it as a dangerous building and gave the property owners 30 days to bring it into compliance. c. 203 N Wood (House) Issue#EN14-03714 Code Compliance Administrator: Dennis McKinley Property owner, not present. Don Wilkinson, Building Inspector, reported the house was damaged by fire. Mr. Wilkinson stated the cost estimate of repair is $39,852. Mr. Wilkinson recommends affirming it as a dangerous building. Mr. Hamilton affirmed it as a dangerous building and gave the property owners 30 days to bring it into compliance. 7. Public Comments: none 8. Board and Staff Members Comments: none 9.
