City of Battle Creek Election Commission Meeting 10 N. Division Street – Room 112 Battle Creek, MI April 17, 2018 9:00 AM Present: Jill Steele, City Attorney; Steve Hudson, City Assessor; Vicki Houser, City Clerk Absent: None Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 9:04 A.M. Approval of Minutes (January 9, 2018) A motion was made by Assessor Hudson, supported by Attorney Steele, to approve the January 9, 2018 Election Commission meeting minutes. All in favor, none opposed. Motion approved. Communications: There were none. Appointment of Election Inspectors for the May 8, 2018 Election Clerk Houser presented a list of election inspectors for the May 8, 2018 School Election. Clerk Houser noted state law required a minimum of 3 inspectors per precinct, stating only a few precincts had more than 3 inspectors, based upon past voter turnout for similar elections. Clerk Houser also noted the school districts participating in the election would cover the election expenses. A motion was made by Assessor Hudson, supported by Attorney Steele, to appoint the precinct inspectors, as presented, for the May 8, 2018 School Election. All yes, none opposed. Motion approved.
