Goguac Lake Board Meeting Department of Public Works 150 S. Kendall Street Conference Room 204 Battle Creek, Michigan 49037 Thursday, December 4, 2014 4:00 p.m. Present: John Avery, Jeff Domenico, Kathy-Sue Dunn, Gerardyne Drozdowski Absent: Christine Kosmowski Others: Ken Kohs, Tony Groves, Nelson Karre, Steve Hudson, Camille Smith Call to Order: Avery called the meeting to order at 4:10 p.m. Approval of Minutes: A motion was made by Avery to approve the minutes from September 4, 2014, as presented. Motion so moved by Dunn. Motion supported by Drozdowski. All yes. Motion carried. Quarterly Financial Report: Kohs gave a summarization of the Financial Report as of December 4, 2014. Kohs stated that revenues generally come in in May which is when the aquatic plant removal takes place. Ken discussed Revenue and Expenditures leaving a Life- To-Date balance of $16,471.42 in spite of the deficient showing Year-To-Date of $22,732.45. Report only. Aquatic Plant Control: Groves distributed and summarized the April 2014 issue of Michigan Lake Information: Lake Water Quality, 2014 Water Quality Monitoring Results, and the Standard Aquatic Vegetation Summary Sheet prepared by Progressive AE regarding the yearly sampling of the lake and its significance. Groves stated that the sampling is done in the deepest portion of the main basin of the lake from surface to bottom in both April and August. Report only. Communication: none Public Comment: not present Board Member Comments: Avery stated that a mailing would be sent out by the Lake Association to all residents as a reminder about commercial use of residential property, zoning ordinances and violations, and information from the DEQ regarding the process to become a marina. Kohs suggested that a proposed 2015 Notice of Goguac Lake Board Meetings schedule be determined at this time for public notification by the City Clerk Office. Dates as follows: March 5, 2014 June 4, 2014 September 3, 2014 December 3, 2014 Avery requested a motion to approve the dates for future meetings. Drozdowski made a motion to approve the schedule of meetings. Motion supported by Domenico. All yes. Motion carried. Adjourn: Avery adjourned the meeting at 4:35 p.m.
