MEETING MINUTES
June 11, 2018

CALL TO ORDER:
Mr. Jim Hopkins, called the meeting to order at 4:08 p.m.

APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES:
MOTION MADE BY MR. BRUCE PHILLIPS TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FOR
THE MAY 14, 2018 HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION MEETING,
SECONDED BY MR. JOHN PAUL WILSON.
ALL IN FAVOR; NONE OPPOSED; MINUTES APPROVED

NEW BUSINESS:
A. Adventist Historic Property: Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness by Adventist
Historic Property to renovate the home of Elder William Clarence White at 67 N
Kendall St.
Staff’s recommended condition
1. All precautionary safety methods and best management industry practices shall be
used during the process of lifting the house and pouring the new foundation.
2. If any archaeological resources are discovered, the project manager shall notify City
staff for further direction.
Therefore, planning staff recommends approval of a certificate of appropriateness
with the following conditions for the proposed building remodeling, as the request
meets the standards outlined in Chapter 1470.09 “Review of Applications”, Chapter
1470.17 “Preservation of Historic Features” and the Secretary of the Interior’s
Standards and Guidelines, as outlined in the staff report.

OF APPROPRIATENESS FOR THE SIGN REPLACEMENT LOCATED AT 58 E.
MICHIGAN AVE; SECONDED BY MR. CHARLIE FULBRIGHT.
Discussion:
VOTE ON MOTION: ALL IN FAVOR; NONE OPPOSED; MOTION CARRIED.
With no others wishing to speak, Chairperson Hopkins closed the public hearing.
