Monday, the 12th of May, 2025 Meeting Minutes NORTHCENTRAL NEIGHBORHOOD PLANNING COUNCIL #2 Washington Heights – Hub of Hope, 153 N. Wood St.  Please note there was not a quorum at this meeting. 1. Call to Order & Welcome: 6:09 pm Larz. Welcomes. Introductions. What everyone introduces themselves. 2. People get charged with felonies when caught with prescription drugs. 19 felony arrests and 40 misdemeanor arrests. Could be warrant arrests too. 127 Traffic stops. Compared to last month. Wood St. b. Elected Officials: c. Neighborhood Services: Megan: weather is getting nice. Looking at exteriors doing outside improvements. Junk accumulation. Getting people to clean up. Including junk vehicles or eyesore or blight. Let us know. Code team. All taking a week to cover Yolanda. You’ll see one of us. Doing more responses then proactive. Issue on Baldwin with camper being addressed. Getting dumping issue on Lafayette addressed. Keep responding. Jose: factory across from figs? Fat in pond. Megan: That is being addressed. State authorities. Factory machines down. Parts in. train staff, working on it. Horrendous problem, smells bad. It’s very concerning to see that nastiness and hope doesn’t go in water. Told me a lady told a child to stab the other child. Last week heard were fighting. Don’t know what apartment. First time today officers were able to look. I will meet with management tomorrow. Like we did 2 years ago and evict them . If you her about it call dispatch. A lot of people moving to bc and kzoo. Chicago tore down. Flint. Benton harbor. Different life styles. Running into. Wood St. pushing lawn mower. People are needing it. Discussion. Corp O’bryant: will talk to neighborhood. Could get a group of young men. Root: If we can bridge that gap that would be amazing. Breedlove: Open house on Saturday May 17th.1-3pm at Church of Scientology Corp O’Bryant: Open house for house that was just built. High efficiency home. Kicking off with the Hub of Hope. Now we see another by someone else, Habitat is being built. Wonderful to see. 11. Next Meeting: Monday, June 9th. 6 PM @ Washington Heights UMC. 12. Adjournment: adjourn.
