Meeting Minutes
Thursday, October 12, 2017
Call to Order: 7 P.M. by V. Chair Joel Fulton
Attendance: by sign-in
Members: Joel E. Fulton, Phyllis Hopkins, Gloria Mansfiels, Cynde Foster.
Absent, Unexcused: Patrick Barnett, Tim Conlogue, Scott Edwards, Ryan Lothschultz.
City Staff: BCPD Kerschen, Kelly Dillman; Chris Lussier. City Commssioner’s John Godfrey, Kaytee Faris,
Eric Feldt-Planning Dept.
Guests: Trudy Hall, Chris Simmons, Lester Johnson, Sherry Sofia, Karen Roebuck, Brittney Kimball, Cari
Briggs, Robert J. Kist, Wes Seely.
Addition or Deletions to the Agenda: none
Approval of the Previous Mintes: none, no quorum
City Staff Reports:
Police Department-reports handed out
Code Compliance: reports handed out. Any issues, write down & give to code
Officer.
Committee Reports:
Commissioner Reports. Commissioner Faris gave oral report.
Area Schools: BCPS only one in attendance to give information by Wes Seely.
Membersip (New Additions/deletions): A motion by Phyllis, 2nd Cynde Foster to add Trudy Hall as a
member. Done unofficially with guidance by Chris Lussier. Motion carried.
Speaker: Planning Department Eric Feldt – Master Plan
Two Handouts given; a map of land uses in our NPC and a Goals & Objectives Plan. He asked us to
read and write comments throughout we might or not agree with and turn in to them. There will be 2
open houses and a workshop on November 1st.
New Business: Chris Lussier talked with us about the Membership Requirements for
NPC’s and how ours is dropping below them. A goal of each member going out and bring 2 interested
potential members to the November meeting. If our membership doesn’t grow; we will face dissolution.
Beautiful Battle Creek Awards: none
Public/Guest Comments: All Candidates for City Commission introduced themselves.
Member Comments: Cynde Foster volunteered to take over as Secretary til election of new officers.
Adjournment: 9 P.M. by V.Chair Joel E. Fulton 2nd Gloria Mansfield.
