Bidwell St. Battle Creek MI 49015 CALL TO ORDER/TIME CONVENED; 7:01 PM ATTENDANCE: Members Present: Tim Conlogue, Robert Kist, Cynde Foster, Gloria Mansfield, Trudy Hall, Cari Briggs, Pastor Janet Wilson, Tim Cole Excused: Carla Berner, Al Berner, Jack Montague, Elisha Hodge, Bryan Mayes, Jerry Dill, Penny Dill City Staff: Officer Shippell, Kim Brown (Code) Guests: Michelle Tyler ADDITION OR DELETIONS TO THE AGENDA: None APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES; Motion by Gloria Mansfield 2nd Robert Kist to approve the April 13, 2023 Minutes Carried CITY STAFF REPORTS; Police Department: Officer Shippell handed out reports. He mentioned that 8 new Officers were hired for the Special Project Group funded by A Grant where problems are the highest. He urged us to keep our cars and doors locked and have security camers (if possible). Code Reports: Code Officer Kim Brown handed out the reports. The Department is looking for a new code officer, so the remaining officers will help the area the one leaving worked In. They are catching up on Rental Permits. The paint program will be starting up again for “Home Owners”, with no income qualifications. Two buildings to be demolished Soon of house on Capital SW and the old gas station building at the corner of Territorial/Woodrow. COMMITTEE REPORTS: Commission None present Schools: BCPS – None Lakeview Public – getting an additional school PD Officer Membership (new additions/deletions): None Beautiful Battle Creek Award (Residential and/or Business): R-535 Orleans Ave. Business Report: None OLD BUSINESS TO BE FINALIZED: Tim Cole gave us an update on the Grant he is working on. NEW BUSINESS: WE WILL HAVE KRISTA EDWARDS FROM THE LAND BANK AT OUR JUNE MEETING. We have 108 properties in the Land Bank SPEAKER: None PUBLIC/GUEST COMMENTS: None MEMBERS COMMENTS: Gloria Mansfield handed out updated 2023 Construction Season and would like to have the New Fire Chief to talk about the reopened Fire station On 20th St. Pastor Janet shared there will be “A SUMMER NEIGHBORHOOD PARTY” at TNC on JUNE 17, 2023 from Noon-3pm.
