City pushing to do new street lighting. General Concerns Response times in general and specifically for B&E and barking dogs. Program: Special Use Permit for the Emily Andrus Home – Daniel Jones Questions and Answers by attendees: Q) Cost to “bring the property up to code” for senior care? A) There are different costs because of senior needs. Q) Ho much will the residents be on the street? A) We do not allow them out unsupervised. Q) How large is the staff? A) Not positive at this point. 3-4 during the day and 2-3 at night. Q) What will the capacity be? A) 21 heads of households with an average of 2 children Q) What are the credentials of the staff? A) Masters level and Licensed Social Workers Q) Where will the residents come from? A) Don’t know. There will be referrals from out of town. Q) What about child care licensing of the staff and facility? A) The coordinator is credentialed. Haven’t applied for the state licensing because they don’t have the information yet. Q) What are the age limits on the children? A) Boys 0-11; Girls 0-17 Q) What about the Street Court? A) The Haven is a participant in The Street Court. Q) What are the living arrangements? A) Currently at the Emily Andrus Home they have 2-room suites with a private bath. Q) What is your target date? A) Would like to open September 12th. Q) How will the property be maintained? Will it be kept-up “relatively” as good as the Home? A) The Haven uses a property management firm to do this. Q) What is the budget for operations? A) $350K for operations per year including staff and insurance. Action Motion: To recommend The Haven be given a Special Use Permit for the Emily Andrus Home property. Passed 8-0. Motion: To recommend The Haven be given a Special Use Permit for the Emily Andrus Home property. By Dave Nielson, seconded by John Hennick. Failed 5-3. Motion: NPC #4 will hold meetings in July and August – by Dave Nielson, second by Glenn. Passed 7-1 Old Business NPC Secretary – We are waiting on the City Commission to officially appoint Laura Adams as a member of this NPC.
