Minutes From NPC#4 February 19, 2014 Call to Order & Welcome: 7:10PM Attendance: Members Present: Rick Harrison, Chuck Yarger, Mary Conklin, Dean Newsome, Mark Jones, John Hennink, Sherry Sofia, John Walton Members Absent: Laura Adams, Marcia Austin, Kaytee Faris, Andy Helmboldt, Ed Lawrence, David Nielsen, Teresa Poole, Dave Salerno, Jonna Siano, Helen Van Valkenburg, John Whittaker, Kim Yarger Guests: Laurie Sullivan, Nathan Grajek, Tricha Grajek, Daniel Rall, Chris Lussier, Susan Bedsole, Jim Lance, Jana Davis, Kate Staib, Shasily Harper. Chair Notes/Correspondence/Announcements: None Additions & Deletions to the agenda: None. Approval of Minutes: moved and support, approved Program: Susan Bedsole was the speaker about the city web site. She showed how to search for property info and code permits. Also she stated that the new web site is easier to find property searches on it. Correspondence (Sent/Received): The city is now sending the crime and code reports per e-mail attachments so we can review them before the meeting. Motions/Discussion/Vote: Mark Jones made a motion and supported by Sherry Sofia to add new members to the NPC. Daniel Rall, Nathan Grajek, Tricha Grajek, Laurie Sullivan, Charitable Union. We request approval from the Commission. Members removed on the same motion were Laura Adams, Teresa Poole, Ed Lawrence. Committee Reports: New committees have been formed. Beautiful Battle Creek Award Committee. Planning and Zone Committee. Membership Committee. Code & Ordinance Enforcement Old Business: John Hennink reported on the drain issue at Emmett/Yale would be addressed in the future. I had a meeting with Chris Dopp about this and was assured that this would be addressed in a future plan of 2016 with the reconstruction of Pitman St. Susan Bedsole address the issue of a house on 255 Cherry St. this will be going to court in the next week and that the city cemented in the water shut off valve. She stated that she will keep us informed on this property. With no police at the meeting the property at 80 Merritt/235 Cherry was addressed by Susan Bedsole and was turned over to Chris Lussier on this matter. We should keep this as old business till we receive a report back. Capital Ave. Buildings are still in the works to be torn down. Dean Newsome will keep us informed on this matter. New Business: Forming Committee’s for the NPC. Please note that the new committee’s are under Committee Reports also. Beautiful Battle Creek Award Committee.
