He will present in October. Email to NPC#1 suggesting Shouldice brothers for Beautiful Battle Creek Award ​ean Newsome to present on Master Plan, Neighborhood Enterprise Zones Additions or Deletions to the Agenda: D and Business Improvement Districts Approval of Previous Minutes: J​ une 17, 2015 and July 15, 2015 minutes were not approved because quorum was not met. ​ark Jones cautioned removing members for absences. Review Membership List: M ​fficer Hegelmann went over reports. Mike and Denise Rust have begun working with BCPD to Police Report: O address ongoing traffic problems and disturbances in and around Piper Park. John Hennink received details on a robbery at Calhoun and Harvard. Sean Lewis requested more information on BCPD involvement with animal control. BCPD does not handle wildlife control issues. John Hennink says that traffic issues seem to be improving. BCPD reports that the traffic unit is making more stops and that they are rotating unmanned radar signs. New crime mapping is available online. Mark Jones reminds guests to sign up for Nixle and Nextdoor. New Business ● The city’s master plan is a 20 year plan that acts as a long range plan for development. It includes actionable items including zoning and commercial property code. the NPC and all residents will have the opportunity to give input on this plan during community conversations, surveys, online mapping, a second round of conversations and 5 design charettes. The community will identify what they want and then with the city, examine current commercial property code and zoning to make sure it matches our plan. ● NPC#4 identifies the following as priorities to be included in the master plan: T​raffic calming,​ especially near parks. Creating more t​raversable neighborhoods​ that combine walkability, ​eveloping the Calhoun and Capital Corridors bikability with an accessible public transit system. D with small businesses that serve the neighborhood needs. Old Business ● Update on the Byrne Innovation Grant ● Update on NIBC sponsored brochures: No one has submitted pictures. Waiting for a response from NIBC to see if funding is still available. ● Beautiful Battle Creek nominations: 514 Capital Ave NE Governmental Reports ● City Commission Report: Dean Newsome said the the commission is working on the city manager evaluation report, the master plan and the the commission rejected an SDD licence application, Reminded us that people have the power to shape their community.
