NORTHEAST PLANNING COUNCIL #4 (Fermont/Verona/McKinley) MEETING MINUTES April 17, 2024 First Congregational Church, 342 NE Capital Ave Meeting Date: 4.17.24 7 pm Members: Kim and Chuck Yarger, JP Wilson, David Salerno, Mary Conklin, Khyrinn Herring, Boonikka Herring Guests: Quinton Hay, Autumn Smith, Craig Long, Bryan Gandy After the introductions March minutes were read and approved. Code: Bryan handed out compliance and inspection issues for March and April. Reported the paint program has started up again. BCPD: Craig handed out March crime report. Referred Lieutenant Strunk to Boonikka for help organizing the Spring clean up. Motor vehicle thefts dropping, recent homicide more of a family rather than gang issue. Homeless camp along Wagner Dr and package thefts increasing. Land Bank: Quinton made available handouts concerning county services. 26 Fremont did not meet requirements for a stabilization grant. Government: Autumn said the commission approved 2.2 million dollars in spending for a variety of projects. General discussion concerning the water bill increases, the proposal to supply water to the Marshall Ford battery plant and that the city is not shutting off water to people who don't pay their bill. New business: Chuck recommended the meetings the city is holding explaining the proposed 25 million dollar fire department station location and modernization plans. Comments: Mary finds the meeting informative. Khyrinn is excited to become a new member. Hopes to involve more people her age group to attend. adjourn: 7:4
