Council Minutes – November 12, 2012
Meeting at Christ United Methodist Church
65 North Bedford Road
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Robert Whitfield, chair.
Attendance: Robert Whitfield, Chair; Dale Stratton; Nate Zanotti; David Moore; Carl
Brockman; Fred Bachman; Deborah L. Gregory; Mason Mayo; Joshua Fausey; Joe Britvec;
Walt McIlroy; Stan Beckwith; Barbara Beckwith; Sara Schmanske
A moment of silence was observed in honor of Veterans Day.
Previous Minutes: October 2012 minutes were approved by voice vote.
Correspondence: None
Police Report: None
Guest Speaker: None
Commissioner’s Report: None
School Report: Deborah Gregory discussed election results as well as the successful audit of
the school district for the previous fiscal year.
Code Report: Written
Membership: Carl Brockman reported Darlene Mayo has an excused absence.
Beautiful Battle Creek Award: The award went to 20 Barney as reported by Dale Stratton.
Old Business: Carl Brockman and Robert Whitfield traded speakers for December 2012 and
March 2013.
New Business: The council was informed that Bonita Henney passed away. She was one of
the original founders of the Urbandale NPC. She will be missed.
The December 10th speaker will be Jeremy Andrews – Presented by Mary Lou Ramon
Public Comment: The council was alerted to two scams currently taking place in our
community. The first is a late night phone call requesting money from a relative supposedly
incarcerated in another country. The other is a caller informing you that you have bounced a
check and need to direct pay the caller on the line.

Adjournment: Chair Whitfield adjourned the meeting at 7:16 PM
