Rural Southwest Neighborhood Planning Council St. Peter Lutheran Church Minutes of the January 10, 2017 Meeting Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by George Wytko. Members Present: Kingery Clingenpeel, Laura Clingenpeel, Linda Morris, Cindy Snyder, Robert Snyder, George Wytko, Sally Wytko, Harry Zimmerman City Officials Present: Christine Zuzga, Planning Supervisor Officer Joshua Chapman, BCPD Members Excused: Rex Winslow, Shelby Winslow Approval of the Minutes: The minutes for November 15, 2016 were approved as read. Motions by L Clingenpeel/L. Morris Officer Chapman introduced himself and gave us his email address which we can use for any problems or questions: jschapman@battlecreekmi.gov Concern was expressed about the intersection of S. Minges and Sonoma Roads which only has a two way stop. City Staff Updates: The following information was distributed:  Code Compliance report for Nov. 16, 2016 to Jan. 9, 2017  Battle Creek Area Transportation Study for December, 2016  City of Battle Creek Staff Information Directory (for binder) Chris Zuzga commented on the Code Compliance report and noted that inspections are usually at a low rate this time of the year. She informed us that changes will be made regarding hotel inspections. She also answered questions regarding the acreage along Riverside Drive and I-94, the property on the SE corner of Capital and Columbia Avenues, and about church signage’s. Chris announced that new members are wanted for the Zoning Board of Appeals, Planning Commission, and Historic District Commission. Applications are due by this Friday. Old Business: We discussed a grant which would be used to clean up the landscaping on the berm at Lois Drive and Beckley Rd. George Wytko will be attending a grant writing workshop tomorrow, Jan. 11, 2017. New Business: Motion by L. Morris, seconded by H. Zimmerman to renew the memberships of Laura Clingenpeel, Robert Harland, and Cindy Snyder to the RSWNPC. Motion approved. The meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m. Motions by B. Snyder/H.
