Minutes of the September 12, 2017 Meeting
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7: 00 pm by George Wytko.
Members Present: Kingery Clingenpeel, Laura Clingenpeel, Cindy Snyder, Robert Snyder, Shelby Winslow, George
Wytko, Sally Wytko,
City Officials Present: Officer Tom Burke, BCPD
Members Excused: Robert Harland, Linda Morris, Rex Winslow, Harry Zimmerman
Approval of the Minutes:
The minutes for May 9, 2017 were approved as printed. Motions by L. Clingenpeel/S. Winslow
City Staff Updates:
Officer Burke distributed the Foot Patrol/Traffic Stops, and the Part 1 Crimes reports for the month of August in
the Rural Southwest. He noted an increase in B & E’s and Larceny for the summer months and he reminded us
to remember to lock our vehicles. He discussed police activity regarding targeting areas for speeding
observations, radar data, security lights, and patrolling vacant houses. Several members thanked Officer
Burke for checking on their homes while they were on vacation.
The Code Compliance report for 7/11/17 to 9/12/17 was distributed.
Presentations: None
Old Business:
Todd Gerber along with several other city officials met with Shelby Winslow and George Wytko this past June at the
Lois Drive/Beckley Road berm to discuss what could be done by the city. The city agreed to do some clean-up work this
summer. NPC members noted that it looks much better and thanked the city for its efforts thus far.
New Business:
Laura Clingenpeel and Cindy Snyder agreed to act as the NPC Nominating Committee for the 2018 year.
George Wytko discussed a proposed presentation regarding the Community Development Block Grant Funds and the
Michigan Hardest Hit funds. The group agreed that that they would like to hear this presentation.
We will discuss the proposed new Master Plan at our October meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m. Motions by B. Snyder/L. Clingenpeel
