Appointment of Committees "For" and "Against" the Ballot Measure p. 49 for Low-Income Housing Levy Dan Hammill / Gene Knutson moved to recommend authorizing the Mayor to appoint committee members to prepare statements for the voter pamphlet without further Council action MOTION CARRIED 7-0. DRAFT 2019-2024 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Work p. 50 Session Presented by Ted Carlson who addressed some comments from the public Pinky Vargas / Michael Lilliquist moved to recommend approval of the resolution MOTION CARRIED 7-0. 8. Approval of City Council Committee and/or Special Meeting Minutes Dan Hammill / Gene Knutson moved to recommend approval of May 21st minutes MOTION CARRIED 7-0. 9. Old/New Business Gene Knutson: Spoke at the unveiling of the new Mark Twain statue in front of Village Books in Fairhaven. He thanked the sculptor and donor, and encouraged people to visit it. Terry Bornemann: Attended the Chuckanut Community Forest celebration that had a great turn-out. Dan Hammill: Thanked WWU for acknowledging the City of Bellingham’s volunteer program with commissions. April Barker: Asked Administration if the COB will pursue the HB2892 for a Mental Health pilot program through the AWC Strong Cities. Brian Heinrich will look into applying for that grant. Brian Heinrich: The Legislative Assistant position opening will be posted to internal candidates with a closing date of June 11th.
