VILLAGE OF BIRON 451 KAHOUN ROAD, WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI 54494 LEGISLATIVE, ORDINANCE, & ZONING COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES October 4th, 2024 12:00 P.M. Members Present: Dan Muleski, Chairperson; Mark Honkomp, committee member; Tammy Steward Excused Others Present: Kayla Lumaye, Public Works Director; Samantha Daugherty, Village Clerk 1. Chairperson Dan Muleski called he meeting to order at 12:08 p.m. 2. Wellhead Protection Ordinance – The committee reviewed the final draft of the wellhead protection ordinance. Motion Honkomp, second Muleski to adopt the wellhead protection ordinance 13.43 as written. Motion carried. 3. Discussion of draft of Short Term Rental Ordinance - Samantha discussed amending current ordinances rather than creating a new ordinance. Samantha was sent an email from the Village’s attorney, Nick Abts, with the Town of Rome’s short term rental ordinance. Nick suggested using their ordinance as a guideline for our ordinance. Rome also has an application and conditional use permit. The conditional use permit is only filled out once the application is approved. Dan will review Rome’s ordinance, application and conditional use permit. After review, the Village will draft an ordinance and application to regulate short term rentals using Rome’s ordinance and application as guides. When the drafts are complete, they will be submitted to our attorney for review. Motion to Adjourn: Mark Honkomp, second by Dan Muleski Time: 12:25 P.M.
