Brown Public Safety Building, 1100 SW Smith, Blue Springs, Missouri, with Chairman Ron Baker presiding. COUNCIL Ron Baker Kathy Hunter MEMBERS Justin Beal Dave Meyer PRESENT Erin Curry - Absent Cindy Miller - Absent Kim Deveney Deb Ohnoutka - Absent Bill Essmann Kirk Sampson Jeff Grote Councilman Kent Edmonson Yvonne Hall Also present were Councilman – Susan Culpepper, City Administrator - Eric Johnson, Acting Community Development Director – Mike Mallon, and Economic Development Coordinator - Teresa Evans. CALL MEETING Chairman Baker called the Economic Development Council meeting to TO ORDER order at 8:10 a.m. APPROVAL OF Councilmember Essmann moved to approve the minutes of the December MINUTES 20, 2017 Economic Development Council meeting. Motion seconded by Councilmember Sampson and carried with the following votes: Councilmember Baker – Aye Councilmember Hall– Aye Councilmember Beal - Aye Councilmember Hunter – Aye Councilmember Curry– Absent Councilmember Meyer – Aye Councilmember Deveney – Aye Councilmember Miller - Absent Councilmember Essmann– Aye Councilmember Ohnoutka - Absent Councilmember Grote - Aye Councilmember Sampson – Aye UPDATE ON Eric Johnson, City Administrator provided an update on the status of the ECONOMIC new Economic Development Director. The hiring process is proceeding DEVELOMENT well. DIRECTOR PROJECT AND Mike Mallon, Acting Community Development Director and Teresa Evans, DEVELOPMENT Economic Development Coordinator provided an update on project and UPDATE activity updates. Councilmembers posed some clarifying questions related to the projects which were addressed by city staff present. April 18, 2018 Economic Development Council Page 2 OTHER BUSINESS Councilman Kent Edmonson will serve as the Council Liaison effective as of April 16, 2018. Eric Johnson, City Administrator provided an update on two city ordinances (hotel/motel and above ground storage tanks) under consideration. ADJOURNMENT At 8:50 a.m. there was no further business to come before the Economic Development Council; Councilmember Essmann moved the meeting be adjourned.
