Minutes of a Regular Public Art Commission Meeting December 11, 2019 A regular meeting of the Blue Springs Public Art Commission was held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the Fieldhouse. The Chairman called the meeting to order. Eleanor Frasier – Present Parks Dept. Staff: Justin Stuart Ramon Magee – Present City Council Liaison: Chris Lievsay- Absent Joy Frazier Boyle – Absent City Staff: Mary Herrington Larry Randall - Present Community Member: Tom Beard Greta Hoener – Present Community Member: Megan Johnson Jeff Carpenter – Present Community Member: Jan Duffendack Barbara Landes- Present Community Member: Steve Willman A motion was made by Barbara and seconded by Larry to accept the Minutes of the November meeting; it passed unanimously. “Ascending” Public Art Exhibit Finalist Interviews 1. Discussion of Procedures for the phone interviews with artist finalists 2. Phone Interviews with artist finalists (20 minutes each; followed by discussion with artist) a. Stephen Fairfield b. Thomas Riefe c. Robert Barnum 3. Discussion of artist finalists with Selection Panelists and PAC members indicated that the preferred artist finalist was Robert Barnum. 4. Discussion on how to contact the artists who applied but not accepted for interview and how to contact the other artist finalists. Justin will make all arrangements after review with Ramon and Eleanor. Other Business: None Visitors/Public Comment: None As there was no further business, a motion for adjournment was made by Jeff and seconded by Larry.
