Public Notice City of Blue Springs, Missouri Community Development Block Grant 2018-2019 CDBG Annual Action Plan The City of Blue Springs is in the process of developing the 2018-2019 Annual Action Plan. The Annual Action Plan will cover the period beginning October 1, 2018 and ending on September 30, 2019 and describes the specific activities that the City will undertake during the upcoming program year. Approved activities in the past include low-moderate income housing improvements, infrastructure improvements in low- moderate income areas, slum and blight removal, public services that benefit low- moderate income clientele or areas, and general administration costs. The City has received an allocation of $271,636 for the 2018 program year, as well as has $69,438 from pre-2017 allocations to reprogram, resulting in a total program of $341,074. The purpose of the public hearing is to invite the public the opportunity to provide input on funding proposals for the Annual Action Plan. The public hearing will be held by the CDBG Advisory Committee on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Municipal Annex Conference Room in the Municipal Annex located at 1304 W. Main Street. At the end of the public hearing, the CDBG Advisory Committee will make a recommendation on the draft plan to the City Council and request the noticing of a 30- day public comment period to review and comment on the draft plan. A public notice will be published for the 30-day public comment period and the final public hearing to be held by the City Council on Monday, August 6, 2018. The public is encouraged to attend the public hearing, including organizations that provide assistance to low-moderate income residents and individuals who may be homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, public housing agencies, residents of public and assisted housing developments, and low-moderate income residents. The City shall consider the views of citizens, public agencies and other interested parties in preparing drafts and final submissions and attach a summary of such comments as they relate to the Annual Action Plan. The Annual Action Plan will be submitted to HUD on or before August 15, 2018, for their review and approval.
