HEALTHY BLUFFDALE COALITION MEETING AGENDA Tuesday, January 14, 2025 Notice is hereby given that the Healthy Bluffdale Coalition will hold a coordination meeting Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the Bluffdale City Fire Station 92, 14895 Noell Nelson Dr., Bluffdale, Utah, scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM, or as soon thereafter as possible. The mission of the Healthy Bluffdale Coalition is to create a resilient, healthy community by fostering health and overall wellness, connecting youth, parents, families and community members, and by promoting risk prevention through evidence-based initiatives. Meeting Agreements: • This is an open, public meeting that is being recorded • Assume positive intent - We are all here with positive intent to help make life better for our community. • Stay Present - Your thinking is focused on the work. • Everyone gets a chance to speak - No one monopolizes airtime. • Everyone Listens - You are actively listening when someone is speaking - not thinking about your response. • One person talks at a time without interruption. • Respect all perspectives and ideas • Start and end on time • It’s okay to disagree - Disagreement is done respectfully • It‘s not okay to blame, shame or attack yourself or others • It’s okay to have silence • Accountability - Each person is accountable for their behavior. This months biggest event will be partnering with the Coalition, Mtn Point Elementary, Jena Cakes, Melissa Henderson Aesthetics, ACD 6:50 Workgroup Check in 6:50 - Marketing Report - Derek McLaughlin - 5 min ● Melissa - Derek relayed on 1/13/25 @ 9:34am “The update was that the team running the tiktok play was going to action their plan. I have not heard where that team is at with their roll-out” 6:55 - Newsletter Report - Interim Brighton Wilson- 5 m in 7:00 - Youth Council Bingo Night -Emily McLaughlin - 10 min ● Bingo Night - Food ● Discuss SHARPs Table ○ Who is willing to volunteer to man the table? Brghton set up - Jona representing the HBC 7:10 - Workshop Update - 10 min ● Stress Busters - Melanie Morris ○ 10 Weeks - Starts Wednesday January 22nd - Ends March 26th ○ 4:30 - 5:30 pm ○ Looking for 6-8 youth to be in the class ○ It is proposed that we provide after school snacks ■ $50 a workshop? = $500 - ○ Is there anyone who would like to be present for the workshops and help out? - Kjersti, Liz and Melanie all volunteer to cover all the wednesdays collectively ● Staying Connected to Your Teen - Jona Stapley ○ 5 week - Proposed we start Monday April 14th (Skipping May 12 for prep and prosper) - ending May 19th ○ We chose these dates after speaking with Youth Services. Jake Fitisemanu introduced himself. He is a representative from IHC. Let us know about a few grants that IHC has: ICCF - Intermountain Community Care and Community Health Fund. He will get us more information. 7:35 Screenagers Update - 5 min ● HVMD auditorium is reserved for Thursday Feb 20th ● 6:30 Start time ● Cost of renting auditorium - $292.50 + Up to $200 additional if we go over time and it is needed ● Could have SHARPS Booth out ● Need Volunteers to man the booth and Welcome guest ● Brighton will create a flyer, working in conjunction with HVMS, create event bright so we have accurate count (up to 300 ppl) ○ We can send it to all schools, post it to social media, & put it in Feb Newsletter 7:40 SHAPRS Survey Update - Melissa Henderson - 5 min ● SLVHD/ Jen Limgwall will be at a table at Bingo night next to ours ○ Jona and Brighton will be there to assist and represent HBC ● Input from Julia Glade ○ Summary: SHARPS data provides info about what challenges local youth face.
