A. Approve the May 12, 2026 regular City Commission agenda
4. CONSENT AGENDA
The purpose of the consent agenda is to expedite business by grouping non-controversial items together to
be dealt with by one Commission motion without discussion. Any member of the Commission, staff, or the
public may ask that any item(s) on the consent agenda be removed and placed as the last item under new
business to receive full discussion. Such requests will be automatically respected.

A. Casa Tequila Social District
Consider the recommendation from Main Street Director Ingrid Day to approve the required resolution
for the application of Casa Tequila to participate in the Boyne City Main Street Social District, and
authorize the City Clerk/Treasurer to complete and return the appropriate resolution.
B. Pavement Markings
Consider the recommendation from the Director of Public Works & Utilities Doug Varney to award a
purchase order contract to P.K. Contracting for the 2026 Pavement Marking Services in an amount not-
to-exceed $44,908.86, and to authorize the City Manager and/or City Clerk/Treasurer to execute the
necessary documents.
C. CWSRF Contract 1 – Hemlock Street Water Main
Consider the recommendation from DPW Director Doug Varney to approve Work Change Directive No.
2 (CWSRF #5890-1, Contract 1), increasing the contract by $22,179.60 to change the Hemlock Street
water main material from C-900 PVC/HDPE to ductile iron pipe with nitrile joints for approximately 915
linear feet, and rescind Field Order No. 4 dated February 16, 2026, and authorize the City Manager
and/or City Clerk/Treasurer to execute any necessary documents associated with this directive and
include the adjustment in the final 2026 balancing change order.
D. Hiring Department Head with the Consent of the City Commission
Consider the recommendation from City Manager Sam Demel to give consent to the hiring of Joshua
Bernthal as the new Parks and Marina Supervisor for the City of Boyne City.
