Council of the Town of Brentwood Town Hall, Brentwood, Maryland Special Council Meeting Special Meeting of the Mayor and Council of Brentwood Date: March 19, 2015 Council: X Vice Mayor Jennifer Kravassi X Council Member Jason Barnett X Council Member Jennifer L Murphy X Council Member Victor Olano X Mayor Rocio Treminio-Lopez Town Staff: X Reginald Bagley, Town Administrator _ Malynda Hill-Williams, Town Treasurer _ Magdalena Rojas, Town Clerk _ Kenneth Bragg, Brentwood Police Department Sergeant Mayor Treminio-Lopez called the meeting to order at 7:09 pm _________________________________________________________________________________ APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion: Council Member Jennifer Murphy to approve the agenda, second by Vice Mayor Jennifer Kravassi The Agenda was approved unanimously with addition and removal of:  Addition of letter sent by Jeff Clark SINK HOLE – 4600 Block of 37 th Street Town Administrator Reginald Bagley reported on the current sinkhole situation. WSSC is determining the extent of sewage piping in the area and will know by early next week. Town Administrator recommends the approval of $10,000.00 maximum to be used if needed and only if WSSC determents that it is not their responsibility to fix the sinkhole. Also recommends that some of those funds go for the creation of a steel plate to securely cover the hole in case it takes longer to hear from WSSC. Motion to approve the usage of $10,000.00 max, taken from the highway user funds, if needed to fix the sink hole by Council Member Jennifer Murphy seconded by Vice Mayor Jennifer Kravassi. Approval unanimous. CPA Proposal- Services Proposal Mayor Rocio Treminio-Lopez opened discussion expressing the need to Mr. Lightfield’s services. Council Member Jennifer Murphy made a motion to approve that his services should not exceed $15,000.00. Seconded by VM Kravassi. In discussion, the agreed upon maximum amount was reduced to $10,000.00. 1 Council of the Town of Brentwood Town Hall, Brentwood, Maryland Council Meeting Move to approve CPA Services by Mike Lightfield not to exceed $10,000.00, to be taken from the treasurer salary line item, once a new scope of work is identified. Motion amended by Council Member Jennifer Murphy, amendment seconded by Vice Mayor Jennifer Kravassi. Approved unanimously. EMAIL- Jeff Clark of Perry Street Email read verbatim by Vice Mayor Jennifer Kravassi. Town Administrator explained some of the background of the letter. As well as earlier conversation that had involved the Board of Elections the Ethics Committee and Jeff Clark, but separately. The end result was that the Board of Elections felt there was no need to delay the submission deadline since there was no requirement to distribute the forms at the same time as petitions were received. The forms can be given on a later date. No action taken, Council Member Jason Barnett will speak to Mr. Clark. Motion to adjourn meeting. Approved.
