Bristol Tennessee Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Meeting March 7, 2013 6:00pm Present: Susie Chandler Sherry Willinger Becky Wilkerson Jerry Greene Jim Goodwin Chris Connally Vivian Tester Richard Heller Absent: Bethany Russell Chris Estep Staff: Terry Napier Crystal Key I. Invocation by Chris Connally. II. Approval of January 3, 2013 minutes – Susie made the motion to accept the minutes. Becky seconded the motion. Motion carried. III. Old Business A. SCP 50th Anniversary Celebration (2014) – 2014 will be SCP’s 50th Anniversary; there will be a committee to start planning events for the celebration. If anyone is interested, let Terry know. B. FY 13 Projects – Terry gave a brief report on the status of the listed projects. • Rotary Park – Things are finishing up nicely. Hope to do a tour of the facility next month. • Shelter B playground new equipment (complete) • Holston View Park score tower renovations • Holston View LL fence replacement • Patterson Park fence replacement • SCP trail clearing/improving (on going) IV. New Business A. Senior Center Computer sign in system – The system is here. We are working to get all of our current members loaded and training staff on the use of the system. B. Senior Center (Registered users) – Our numbers have increased tremendously. C. Slater Parking expansion – The City has obtained the property on the east side of the Slater Center. This will enable us to extend parking. D. Easter Egg Hunt – This event is held at Steele Creek Park, and will be a great family event. March 23rd. E. Tree Keepers Program – This is an annual educational program held at Steele Creek Park. March 9th. F. AFMA Winter Conference – March 9th at the Slater Center. It is an educational event as well as market. V. Comments from Commissioners: VI. Meeting adjourned at 7:15pm. VII.
