Roll Call attendance taken as follows: Commission Members present: Chairperson C.P. Hall II, Commissioner Ray Williamson, and Commissioner Linda Dumas. Commissioner Members Absent: None Also in Attendance: Fire Chief James Adams and HR Manager Brad Mitchell PUBLIC COMMENT: None OMNIBUS AGENDA Approval of Minutes: Fire and Police Commissioners Regular Meeting held on October 4, 2023 Motion by Commissioner Williamson, seconded by Commissioner Dumas to approve the regular meeting minutes from October 4, 2023. Upon roll call, the motion carried as follows: Ayes: Chairperson C.P. Hall II and Commissioner Williamson. Nays: None. Abstain: Commissioner Dumas. Absent: None. Discussion Items: A. Welcome new Commissioner Linda Dumas Chairperson C.P. Hall II welcomed new Commissioner Linda Dumas. Chairperson C.P. Hall provided a reminder on Open Meetings Act requirements. B. Update on Fire and Police Hires HR Manager Mitchell provided status of candidates on the lists for both Fire and Police. For Fire, HR Manager Mitchell stated that the last candidate on the list, Robert Zurita, was contacted and indicated he was interested. For the Police list, HR Manager indicated that two spots were open. Candidate Jorge Barba went for his polygraph and the next candidate, Daniel Avalos, will be contacted. Update on Fire and Police lists of qualified applicants HR Manager Mitchell stated that the last candidate on the Fire list was contacted. D. Consideration of action to advertise for new applicants and to arrange testing of applicants to create new lists HR Manager Mitchell stated that the Fire list is exhausted, and that IO Solutions would need to be contacted to schedule testing to create a new list. Commissioner Williamson requested a motion to authorize HR Manager Brad Mitchell to contact IO Solutions about creating a new Fire list. Motion seconded by Commissioner Dumas. Upon roll call, the motion carried as follows: Ayes: Chairperson C.P. Hall II, Commissioner Williamson, and Commissioner Dumas. Nays: None. Abstain: None. Absent: None. E. Final Promotional Eligibility Register for Sergeant in Police Department is set to expire on January 6, 2024 Commissioner Williamson requested a motion to authorize HR Manager Brad Mitchell to contact IO Solutions to schedule promotional testing for the rank of Sergeant in the Police Department. Motion seconded by Commissioner Dumas. Upon roll call, the motion carried as follows: Ayes: Chairperson C.P. Hall II, Commissioner Williamson, and Commissioner Dumas. Nays: None. Abstain: None. Absent: None. F. Update on creation of a lateral entry program Chairperson C.P. Hall II requested that the Chief of Police attend the December Board of Fire and Police Commissioners meeting to provide an update on the creation of a lateral entry program. Pursuant to Section 2 (c) (1) of the Open Meetings Act to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific Village employees. a. No need for executive session on November 1, 2023. Next Meeting Chairperson C.P.
