Architect PUTEGNAT, Tara–Heritage Tourism Professional WALKER, Calvin–Chairman NOTICE OF A PUBLIC MEETING OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BROWNSVILLE Pursuant to Chapter 551, Title 5 of the Texas Government Code, the Texas Open Meetings Act, notice is hereby given that the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) of the City of Brownsville, Texas, has scheduled a Regular Meeting, on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 12:00 P.M., in the Brownsville Public Library – Main Branch, 2600 Central Blvd., Brownsville, Cameron County, Texas, 78520. Pursuant to Section 551.127, Texas Government Code, one or more Commissioners or employees may attend this meeting remotely using videoconferencing technology. Public Comments* Members of the public who submitted a “Public Comment Form” will be permitted to offer public comments as provided by the agenda and as permitted by the presiding officer during the meeting. A recording of the meeting will be made and will be available to the public in accordance to the Open Meetings Act. **************** CALL THE MEETING TO ORDER CITIZEN COMMUNICATION GENERAL The first ten (10) speakers who register to speak no later than noon the day before the meeting will be allowed a three-minute allotment to address their concerns regarding items not posted on the agenda. 1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A. December 10, 2021 – Offered for consent approval. 2. PUBLIC HEARINGS A.1 Public Hearing and Action to approve the 2022 Historic Preservation Plan under certain staff recommendations. Districts D3 & D4 Request: Annual Preservation Plan. Approval under certain staff recommendations. Applicant: Current property owners with qualified historic buildings. City Staff: Juan Velez, Historic Preservation Office, 956-548-6142. Staff recommendation: The buildings that qualified to potential tax exemption are listed and shown during the meeting. Some of them will require a written confirmation from the owners that they agree to fix minor damage. Due to the situation of the Covid-19 disease and its variants, the deadline to carry out said maintenance will be until June 16, 2022. 3. COMMISSION AND STAFF REPORTS 4. ADJOURNMENT
