CITY OF BRUSH!
MINUTES OF THE JUNE 12, 2017 – REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
The City Council of the City of Brush, Colorado met in regular session on June 12, 2017. Mayor
Chuck Schonberger called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at Brush
City Hall. The pledge of allegiance was given.
Present on roll call were: Mayor Chuck Schonberger
Councilor Jeanine Anderson
Councilor Marlene Baker
Councilor Heath Becker
Councilor Kimberly Dykes
Councilor Vicky Quinlin
Absent: Councilor Rick Bain
Also present were Administrator Monty Torres, Police Chief Travis Anderson, City Attorney Bo
Chapin, Finance Director Joanne Gosselink, and City Clerk Andrea Strand.
MINUTES
The minutes of the regular meeting of May 22, 2017, were approved as submitted.

MANAGEMENT
Ordinance No. 855-17
First Reading of Ordinance No. 855-17, An Ordinance Approving the Lease of Certain Real
Estate Owned by the City of Brush, Commonly Known as Brush Municipal Airport Hangar for a
Term of Five Years, and Declaring an Emergency
Councilor Dykes Introduced Ordinance No. 855-17. Councilor Anderson offered a motion,
second by Councilor Quinlin to approve on first reading and publish in full, Ordinance No. 855-
17. It was approved unanimously.

Setting a Fee Schedule for City of Brush Criminal Justice Records
Police Chief Travis Anderson introduced a fee schedule for criminal justice records and asked
for Council consideration.
Councilor Quinlin offered a motion, second by Councilor Dykes to approve the criminal justice
fee schedule as presented. It was approved unanimously.

Councilor Quinlin moved, second by Councilor Anderson to approve City bills from May 22-June
12, 2017. The roll call vote was unanimous.

STAFF REPORTS
Police Chief Anderson
• Reported 516 calls for service in the last two weeks.
• Hardy, Hosier and Blank attended training.
• The recent public safety fair was well attended.
• Brush police department will be covering Fort Morgan while their department attends a
funeral for Officer Sandavol.

City Clerk Strand
• Highlighted upcoming meetings on the calendar.
• Noted a council candidate information meeting on Monday, July 31 at 5:30 p.m. in
council chambers.
City Administrator Torres
• Reported on various street projects going on throughout the City. Elm Street is moving
along and should be completed in 30 days. Staff will begin planning a block party for the
residents. Emerson Street, by Sunset Ball Park, should be completed in 10-12 days.
Mill Street should begin in 2 weeks and is a full re-construction. 80% funded by Federal
Highway Fund. The Downtown Project is ahead of schedule.
• Reported that the voluntary curbside recycling project has proved to be successful. Staff
will come back to council to see if the program should be expanded.
MAYOR AND COUNCIL
Councilor Anderson
• Would like to use the city car to travel to the CML conference.
• Asked for police officers to check on the community garden.
