BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes A Board of Control meeting was held Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 9:00 AM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Bernabei called the meeting to order at 9:03 AM. Director of Public Service John Highman was present. Director of Public Safety Andrea Perry was excused. Board Secretary Katie Wise was also present. There were no visitors present. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 2/2/2021 - Minutes 1. Ordinance 244/2020 Enter into a one-year professional service agreement with RT Fox, LLC DBA Connecting Point in the total amount of $76,528.00 for license agreements on the Microsoft Hosted Exchange, GFI Archiver and Email Encryption for the email system and online threat protection for the IT Department. Discussion: Per Director Highman, this is the City’s annual contract for email and online protection. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced agreement. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 2 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 2. Canton Codified Ordinance 105.04 Register Central Allied Enterprises, Inc. with the Clerk of Council as an emergency contractor for profiling and street paving due to water main breaks, etc. with the Water Department for a one-year term beginning on March 1, 2021. Discussion: Per Director Highman, this registration is done every year per the Codified Ordinance. The Water Department is the only department that utilizes the ordinance for this purpose. Typically, Central Allied Enterprises is the only vendor to submit a proposal. Katie Wise added that this year a second submission was received from Chagrin Valley Paving, Inc. Central Allied submitted the lowest prices overall. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced registration. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 2 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 3. Ordinance 244/2020 Award and enter into a one-year supply contract (with the option of a 30 day extension at the sole discretion of the City of Canton) with Mueller Company, LLC for the supply of fire hydrants and fire hydrant repair parts for the Water Department. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 2 yeas 0 nays Motion carried.
