BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes A Board of Control meeting was held Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 9:00 AM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Bernabei called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. Director of Public Service John Highman and Director of Public Safety Andrea Perry were present. Board Secretary Katie Wise was also present. There were no visitors present. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 4/12/2022 - Minutes 1. Ordinance 65/2022 Award and enter into contract with Stanley Miller Construction Company in the amount of $138,170.00 for the Centennial Plaza Main Stage Improvements Project to construct a covering over the stage. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 2. Ordinance 7/2022 Award and enter into a three-year contract (with the option of a 30-day extension at the sole discretion of the City of Canton) in the amount of $6,896.00 per month for Contract Year 1; $7,241.00 per month for Contract Year 2 and $7,603.00 per month for Contract Year 3 with Kimble Recycling and Disposal, Inc. for Solid Waste (Grit, Grease, Screenings, and Trash) Disposal for the Water Reclamation Facility. Discussion: Mayor Bernabei asked if this contract was done via a new bid. Katie Wise confirmed that this was bid and the Kimble was the only bidder. Director Highman added that they have been awarded this contract in the past. Ordinance 7/2022 Award and enter into contract with The Shelly Company in the amount of $3,521,310.00 for the 2022 City Paving Program, GP1381. Discussion: Mayor Bernabei asked if Wenger bid on this project. Director Highman stated that the Northstar Asphalt and The Shelly Company were the only two bidders for this project. Shelly was the low bidder by approximately $300,000.00 Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 4. Ordinance 53/2022 Award and enter into contract with Stanley Miller Construction Company in the amount of $2,588,800.00 for the Collection Systems Service Center Garage Addition and Administration Offices Renovation Project. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried.
