BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes A Board of Control meeting was held Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 9:00 AM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Bernabei called the meeting to order at 9:02 AM. Director of Public Safety Andrea Perry and Director of Public Service John Highman were present. Board Secretary Katie Wise was also present. Visitor present was Doug Foltz, Director of Parks and Recreation. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 10/11/2022 - Minutes 1. Ordinance 159/2022 Award and enter into contract with Vasco Asphalt Company DBA Vasco Sports Contractors in the amount of $386,000.00 for the Resurfacing of Six Tennis Courts and Surrounding Area at Weis Park for Parks and Recreation. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 2. Ordinance 227/2022 Enter into Change Order No. 1 with Stanley Miller Construction Co. in the amount of $120,000.00 for the 9th St. NE Salt Storage Facility Renovations Project, GP1371 in order to add Bid Alternate Item #3 - Addition of a Loading Dock on the SW Corner of the Salt Storage Building, resulting in a new contract amount of $2,087,331.00 for the Engineering Department. Ordinance 7/2022 Enter into a two-year agreement with Verizon Wireless for an estimated total access and equipment fee of $125,000.00 for service and equipment charges on 250 lines which cover all active cell phones and wireless devices throughout the City departments. Discussion: Per Director Highman, this is the agreement with Verizon Wireless that we enter into every two year via the General Services Administration (GSA) agreement. This covers all wireless devices through all City departments, not just cell phones. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced agreement. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 4. Ordinance 11/2022 Enter into Contract Amendment No. 1 with The Great Lakes Construction Company for the Sugar Creek Water Treatment Plant & Wellfield Improvements Project in order to update the Davis Bacon prevailing wage rates prior to project commencement on October 17, 2022.
