BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes The Board of Control meeting was held Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 9:00 AM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Bernabei called the meeting to order at 9:02 AM. Director of Public Service, John Highman and Director of Public Safety, Andrea Perry were present. Board Secretary Katie Wise was also present. There were no visitors present. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 5/9/2023 - Minutes 1. Ordinance 225/2022 Enter into contract with Daniel A. Terreri & Sons, Inc. in the amount of $1,419,125.00, utilizing ARPA funds, for the Parks and Recreation Spray Park/Splash Pad Installation Projects located at Garaux, Harmont and Weis Parks pursuant to the design-build selection process per ORC 153, which complies with state competitive bidding requirements. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 2. Ordinance 276/2022 Enter into a professional services contract with Wi-Fiber, LLC in the amount of $813,720.00, utilizing ARPA funds, for the Purchase and Installation of Equipment for the Expansion of the Police Security Camera Coverage Areas and the License Plate Reader System. Discussion: This project will include the installation of approximately 103 new security cameras. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Ordinance 49/2023 Enter into contract with MacQueen Equipment, LLC DBA Bell Equipment Company of Ohio in the amount of $347,428.50 for the purchase of one (1) Heil DuraPack 5000 High Compaction Rear Loader Sanitation Truck for the Sanitation Department pursuant to the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Program which exempts said purchase from competitive bidding. Discussion: Mayor Bernabei asked what the anticipated delivery date will be for this truck. Director Highman indicated that at last discussion, the estimated delivery time was 18 months. It is possible that it could be delivered sooner. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 4. Ordinance 50/2023 Enter into a Professional Services Agreement with Motter & Meadows Architects in the amount of $42,000.00, utilizing ARPA funds, for the architectural and engineering services for the Fire Station #8 Renovation Project. Discussion: Fire Station #8 is located on Harmont Ave. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced agreement. Director Perry seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. _ 5. Ordinance 276/2022 Enter into Change Order No. 1 & Final with The Shelly Company in the amount of $99,143.10 for the 2022 City Paving Program, Phase 2, Spot Paving, GP1381 due to additional work performed at the entrance of Montabella Estates, Canton Centre Mall and areas on E. Tuscarawas St., resulting in a new contract amount of $529,023.10. Discussion: No discussion. Enter into Change Order No. 1 & Final with The Shelly Company in the amount of $99,143.10 for the 2022 City Paving Program, Phase 2, Spot Paving, GP1381 due to additional work performed at the entrance of Montabella Estates, Canton Centre Mall and areas on E. Tuscarawas St., resulting in a new contract amount of $529,023.10. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced change order.
