SPECIAL BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes The Special Board of Control meeting was held Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Bernabei called the meeting to order at 2:03 PM. Director of Public Service, John Highman and Director of Public Safety, Andrea Perry were present. Board Secretary Katie Wise was also present. There were no visitors present. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 10/10/2023 - Minutes 1. Ordinance 145/2023 Enter into Change Order No. 2 with HM Miller Construction Co. in the amount of $165,152.92 for the Allen Ave. SE Area Sanitary Sewer and Waterline Project, GP1332, in order to address drainage issues due to no storm sewers in the area, resulting in a new contract amount of $6,381,265.33. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced change order. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 2. Ordinance 145/2023 Enter into Change Order No. 3 with HM Miller Construction Co. in the amount of $393,442.00 for the Allen Ave. SE Area Sanitary Sewer and Waterline Project, GP1332, in order to address additional waterline and sewer work, resulting in a new contract amount of $6,774,707.33. Ordinance 87/2022 Enter into Change Order No. 3 & Final with Stanley Miller Construction Co. for a cost reduction in the amount of $70,422.69 for the 9th St. NE Salt Storage Facility Renovation Project, GP1371, in order to close out the project, resulting in a new contract amount of $2,113,853.41. Discussion: Mayor Bernabei asked if this project was now complete. Per Director Highman, the salt storage facility is done and filled with salt. The cold storage building also located on the lot is not part of this project. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced change order. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 4. Ordinance 50/2023 Enter into contract with Motorola Solutions, Inc. in the amount of $121,983.48 for the purchase of 20 portable radios and accessories for the Fire Department pursuant to the Ohio Department of Administrative Services Cooperative Purchasing Program, which exempts said purchase from competitive bidding. Ordinance 276/2022 Enter into a one-year professional services contract with ComProducts, Inc. dba B&C Communications in the amount of $40,482.00 for the maintenance of the City’s portable/mobile Motorola radios. Ordinance 132/2021 Enter into a contract amendment with MOB Acquisitions, LLC in order to amend the terms of the Termination and Operation of the Ice Rink sections of the original Lease and Sub-Lease of the Space at 215 W. Tuscarawas St. for the purpose of operating a restaurant/snack bar, ice rink and entertainment area. Discussion: No discussion.
