BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes The Board of Control meeting was held Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 9:00 AM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Bernabei called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. Director of Public Service, John Highman and Director of Public Safety, Andrea Perry were present. Board Secretary Katie Wise was also present. There were no visitors present. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 11/14/2023 - Minutes 1. Ordinance 276/2022 Enter into a one (1) year professional services contract amendment with Aultworks Occupational Medicine for continued occupational health services for City employees, with all prices staying the same as the 2023 renewal. Discussion: No discussion. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced amendment. Director Perry seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 2. Ordinance 276/2022 Enter into a contract amendment with Schauer Group, Inc. in the amount of $115,656.00 for the term extension of the property insurance policy for City owned buildings from December 15, 2023 to March 31, 2024. Discussion: Director Highman noted that this amendment will delay the policy expiration date until March, rather than December, so that we can pay this invoice towards the beginning of the year, rather than at the end of the year with the payment deadlines, etc. This is essentially a 3 ½ month portion of the bill. Schauer is working on a renewal for a full year, which would begin in March. Andy Roth is getting a comparison quote from Ohio Plan as well. Ordinance TBD Ordinance 183/2023 Award and enter into contract with MacQueen Equipment, LLC dba Bell Equipment Company in the amount of $106,526.00 for the purchase of a Stellar Container Carrier System and Chevrolet Silverado to be used as a dumpster hauler truck for the Sanitation Department. Discussion: Mayor Bernabei asked how this container carrier system worked on the truck. Director Highman explained that it essentially works as a reverse fork lift that picks up the dumpsters and hauls the containers. The bed of the Silverado will be removed and the truck will be retrofitted with the container carrier system. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. 4. Ordinance 51/2022 Ordinance 51/2022 Enter into Change Order No. 2 & Final with Omnipro Services, LLC for a cost reduction in the amount of $64,708.00 for the construction oversight and inspection services on the Rebar Ave. NE/US 62 Realignment (Amazon) Project, in order to close out the project, resulting in a new contract amount of $159,440.00. Discussion: Mayor Bernabei asked if any of these funds were part of a reimbursement contract, or how the funds were distributed. Director Highman will get confirmation. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced change order. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried. Adjournment: Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried.
