BOARD OF CONTROL Meeting Minutes The Board of Control meeting was held Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at 9:00 AM in the Mayor’s Conference Room. Board President, Mayor Bernabei called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. Director of Public Service, John Highman and Director of Public Safety, Andrea Perry were present. Board Secretary Katie Wise was also present. Visitor present was Mayor-Elect Bill Sherer. The following items were for review/approval by the Board of Control: 12/26/2023 - Minutes 1. Ordinance TBD Ordinance TBD Enter into a one (1) year contract with Hylant Administrative Services, LLC for a total annual premium in the amount of $386,157.00 for the City’s Liability and Auto Physical Damage Insurance Coverage for 2024. Discussion: Per Katie Wise, this contract will be covered under the 2024 Supply Ordinance, which will be approved by Council at the beginning of January. Per Director Highman, this insurance coverage expires on December 31st. As in years past, the Board of Control approves this contract at the end of December and then an email is sent to Hylant asking them to bind coverage. The purchase order will be opened to Hylant upon Council’s approval of the new Supply Ordinance. Director Highman also added that Hylant currently has $1 million in an account to pay a potential claim against the City. Motion: Mayor Bernabei made a motion to approve the above referenced contract. Director Highman seconded. Vote: 3 yeas 0 nays Motion carried.
