City Council Joint Meeting with Legislators

CITY COUNCIL – JOINT MEETING WITH LEGISLATORS City Hall Conference Room 2 January 23, 2026 The City Council held a joint meeting with local legislators at noon on January 23, 2026 to discuss the 2026 legislative session. The following persons were in attendance: Mayor Danny Laudick; Council Members Gil Schultz, Chris Latta, Tom Nagle, Aaron Hawbaker, Kelly Dunn, and Hannah Crisman; Local Legislators Dave Sires, Bob Kressig, and Derek Wulf; City Lobbyists Tom Cope and Jon Murphy; staff members Jennifer Rodenbeck, Craig Berte, Chase Schrage, Stephanie Sheetz, and Kelly Stern. Mayor Laudick called the meeting to order and introductions were made. Each state legislator discussed their views on the various current property tax bills that have been introduced. There was also discussion about nutrient reduction and water quality, mental health concerns, TIF, property tax credits, and other various topics. Lastly, there was discussion about certain organized days at capitol hill to have local leaders attend and those dates will be sent out. The meeting was adjourned at 1:20 pm by consensus.
