MINUTES OF THE CENTENNIAL CITY COUNCIL Regular City Council Meeting 7:00 PM Monday, March 1, 2021 A Regular Meeting of the City Council was held on this date virtually in Centennial, Colorado. A full and timely notice of this meeting had been posted and a quorum was present. 1 Call to Order Mayor Piko called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. 2 Roll Call Those present were: Mayor Piko Council Member Maurer Council Member Sutherland Council Member Holt Council Member Alston Council Member Turley Council Member Sheehan Those absent were: Council Member Moon, excused Council Member Sweetland, excused Also present were: Matt Sturgeon, City Manager Robert Widner, City Attorney Maureen Juran, Deputy City Attorney Chris Price, Senior Assistant Attorney Elisha Thompson, Deputy City Manager Eric Eddy, Assistant City Manager Ryan Thompson, Neighborhood Services Manager Allison Wittern, Director of Communications Jeff Dankenbring, Public Works Director Jim Paral, City Traffic Engineer Jeff Cadiz, Revenue Manager Barbara Setterlind, City Clerk Christina Cooney, Deputy City Clerk 3 Pledge of Allegiance Mayor Piko Led the Pledge of Allegiance. 4 Public Comment (None) Minutes – Regular City Council Meeting 3/1/2021 7:00:00 PM Page 2 5 Scheduled Presentations a Update from Emergency Services and Law Enforcement; 7:07 PM Sheriff Brown and Chief Thompson, Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office, gave an update. Kristin Eckmann, South Metro Fire District, gave a brief update. 6 Consideration of Communications, Proclamations and Appointments (None) CONSENT AGENDA Council Member Sutherland moved to Approve CONSENT AGENDA. Council Member Sheehan seconded the motion. With Mayor Piko, Council Member Turley, Council Member Alston, Council Member Maurer, Council Member Sutherland, Council Member Sheehan, Council Member Holt voting AYE, and (None) voting NAY; Absent: 2. Mayor Piko opened the Public Hearing; seeing no one present wishing to speak, the Public Hearing was closed. Council Member Turley moved to Approve ORDINANCE NO. 2021-O-02 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CENTENNIAL, COLORADO, AMENDING ARTICLE 1 OF CHAPTER 4 OF THE CENTENNIAL MUNICIPAL CODE GOVERNING SALES AND USE TAX, TO ADOPT THE COLORADO MUNICIPAL LEAGUE ECONOMIC NEXUS AND MARKETPLACE FACILITATOR MODEL ORDINANCE. Council Member Alston seconded the motion. With Mayor Piko, Council Member Turley, Council Member Alston, Council Member Maurer, Council Member Sutherland, Council Member Sheehan, Council Member Holt voting AYE, and (None) voting NAY; Absent: 2. THE MOTION Passed. 12 Consideration of Resolutions; 8:36 PM a RESOLUTION NO. 2021-R-05 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CENTENNIAL, COLORADO, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT TO EXPAND THE CITY'S INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATION COMMUNICATION SYSTEM Jeff Dankenbring, Director of Public Works, presented. Council Member Turley moved to Approve RESOLUTION NO. 2021-R-05 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CENTENNIAL, COLORADO, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT TO EXPAND THE CITY'S INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATION COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Council Member Sutherland seconded the motion. Council Member Turley moved to Approve Executive Session Pursuant to C.R.S. §24-6- 402(4)(b) to Receive Legal Advice Concerning the Formation of a Metropolitan District. Council Member Sutherland seconded the motion. With Mayor Piko, Council Member Turley, Council Member Alston, Council Member Maurer, Council Member Sutherland, Council Member Sheehan, Council Member Holt voting AYE, and (None) voting NAY; Absent: 2.
