MINUTES CITY OF CHEROKEE VILLAGE, ARKANSAS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING 6: 30 P. M., THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2020 CHEROKEE VILLAGE CITY HALL Meetings are video recorded) Mayor pro tem Kristopeit called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 6: 30 p. m. on Thursday, November 19, 2020. Mayor pro tem led the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a moment of prayer. Roll was called by Clerk Deb Weichinger. Present were Jerry Adams, Les Covington, Carr Hill, Mayor pro tem Chuck Kristopeit, Thomas Rupard, Rob Smith, and Steve Thompson. Present via Zoom: Pamela Rowland. Absent: Mayor Russ Stokes, City Attorney Jon Abele. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA: Council Member Adams moved to approve the agenda, second by Council Member Covington and passed unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENTS ON AGENDA ITEMS: ( limit 3 minutes per person) APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES ( October 15, 2020): Council Member Smith moved to approve the council minutes, second by Council Member Thompson and passed unanimously. Proposed Ordinance 2020 -xx: An Ordinance to Establish Controls Related to Short- Term Residential Rentals in the City of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; Imposing a Penalty for the Violation of this Ordinance; and for Other Purposes: Council Member Adams motioned to read by title only, second by Council member Smith. Clerk read the motion by title only. Roll call City of Cherokee Village, Regular City Council Minutes of November 19, 2020  passed unanimously. Council Member Covington Motioned for final approval, second by Council Member Adams. Roll call vote passed unanimously. This will be Ordinance 2020 - 04. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Sale of Surplus City Equipment/ Assets: John Kyllo, Street Superintendent presented seven 7) items ( see attached list) to be classified as scrap. Motion made by Council Member Smith, second by Council Member Covington to approve declaration of surplus items. Roll call vote passed unanimously. 2. David Woods- OEM Assets: David Woods said questions have been answered, remove from agenda. COMMENTS: Bill Matselboba addressed the council regarding a sample road material to be given to John Kyllo, Street Superintendent. Mr. Matselboba asked about striping on Highway 175. He was informed Highway 175 is a state highway. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Christmas decorating contest for both residences and businesses. First place $ 100, second place $ 75 and third place $ 50 will be awarded to each of the four city wards for residences. First place $ 100, second place $ 75 and third place $ 50 will be awarded for businesses city wide. 15th.
